how I styled my floating shelves + minted art

First of all, I feel like this post needs to start out with a BEFORE photo - see below!

This shelf decor is what was put up right after spending hours (basically an entire weekend) taking down all the Christmas decor in the house back in February. I essentially just grabbed a bunch of random items so it wasn't bare. I then proceeded to neglect our lower level decor-wise up until a couple of weeks ago. I think from being busy and then just not spending a whole lot of time down there. We go in spurts of being down there and not...anyways!! I was sick of looking at this poorly decorated shelf and decided I wanted to do something totally different! I searched my Pinterest boards for inspiration and came up with my own mood board! Check it out!

Originally I thought I would do a couple of white frames mixed with some of the decor you see in my mood board. But then I was shopping at Target I decided to go all in with with a full shelf of white frames (see the inspo photo on my mood board)! I also had wanted a reason to order some Minted art and this was going to be the perfect opportunity to do just that! Minted has ALL kinds of art in so many different styles. I'm always drawn to coastal, colorful pictures and since we are headed into spring and summer I did just that! Before I share my minted finds with you, let me link the exact frames and shelves for you!

The next step was figuring out what Minted art I wanted to collage together! This step was the most time consuming, but makes it easier to commit to your photos being perfect together! On Minted's website I sifted through all the photos and screen shot the ones I really liked on my phone. Then I uploaded those onto Canva and made up a bunch of different collages until I narrowed it down to the winner! They all looked similar to this but with different art! Minted also has the option to order their prints with frames, but I went for a bit more budget friendly option, getting these frames from Target!

I had so much fun on this project because it allowed me to be creative and I really enjoyed pulling these beautiful pieces together to make something that really represented me! I think I was probably born in the wrong state because I am in love coastal style, bright flowering images and colors of the sea! Hence why I completely fell in love with Savannah, Hilton Head and Charleston on my honeymoon. I had no idea what I was missing until I saw it smack me in the face! Can't wait to go back as soon as possible!

I hope this project inspires you to makeover a small corner of your home to represent something you love and just bring joy to you! I know I will enjoy this frame collage for years to come!

I really wanted to link the art I found that didn't make the final cut but I also love equally as much! So here you go!
